Overview
Tags help you organize and categorize your maps so they're easier to find later. Instead of relying only on map names, you can assign tags based on projects, subjects, departments, clients, workflows, or any other system that makes sense for you.
For example, you might tag maps with labels such as "Marketing," "Biology," "Q4 Planning," or "Meeting Notes." A single map can have multiple tags, making it easier to group related work across different projects and teams.
Add tags to a map
- Go to the Home dashboard.
- Find the map you want to organize.
- Right-click the map and select Tags.
- Enter one or more tags.
- Save your changes.
Edit or remove tags
- Go to the Home dashboard.
- Find the map whose tags you want to update.
- Right-click the map and select Tags.
- Add new tags, edit existing ones, or remove tags you no longer need.
- Save your changes.
Find maps using tags
- Go to the Home dashboard.
- Open the All tags dropdown.
- Select a tag to view all maps with that tag.
- Choose Untagged to view maps that do not have any tags applied.
The tag filter makes it easier to find specific maps by narrowing your view to a particular category, project, subject, or workflow. Maps with the same tag are grouped together, helping you quickly locate related maps across your workspace.

Tips

- Use multiple tags when a map belongs to more than one category.
- Review your tags periodically and remove ones you no longer use.
Common questions
How many tags can I add to a map?
You can add multiple tags to help categorize a map in different ways.
Can different maps use the same tag?
Yes. In fact, using the same tag across related maps is what makes tags useful for organization and search.
Do tags affect map sharing?
No. Tags are used for organization and do not change a map's sharing permissions.
Should I use tags or folders?
Tags are designed to help categorize maps across multiple topics and projects. A map can have several tags, making them more flexible than placing a map into a single category.
