Overview
If you have changed the colors, text, shapes, or other styling in a Mindmup map, you can reset those changes without rebuilding the map.
Mindmup lets you reset the styling of an individual node or connecting line. You can also reset styling across the entire map when you want to return to its default appearance.
Reset the style of an individual node or connecting line
Use Reset style when you want to remove custom styling from a specific node or connecting line without affecting the rest of the map.
- Right-click the node or connecting line you want to reset.
- Select Reset style.
The selected node or connecting line returns to its default styling while the rest of your map stays unchanged.
Reset styling across the entire map
Use Reset all styling when you want to remove styling changes across the entire map instead of resetting individual elements one at a time.
- Right-click an empty area of the canvas.
- Select Reset all styling.
Example use cases
Resetting styling is useful when you have experimented with the appearance of a map and want to undo some of those design choices.
For example, you might change the color, text, shape, or shadow of a node to make it stand out. If you later decide it no longer needs emphasis, reset that node instead of manually changing each setting.
You might also experiment with styling throughout a map and decide you prefer the original appearance. In that case, Reset all styling gives you a quicker way to start fresh.
Tips
- Reset an individual node when you want the rest of your map to stay as it is.
- Reset a connecting line separately when only that connection needs to return to its default styling.
- Use Reset all styling when you have made several styling changes and would rather start fresh than undo them one by one.
- If one part of your map looks inconsistent with the rest, try Reset style on that node or line before changing its settings manually.
- If you want to reuse styling instead of removing it, use Copy style and Paste style to apply the same appearance elsewhere.
