Creating Linked Sub-Maps in Mindmup
Google Drive users can now split larger maps into linked sub-maps. Previously, this feature was available only to Mindmup storage users, allowing parts of a complex map to be extracted into a new map. It is now accessible for maps saved to Google Drive as well.
Creating a Sub-Map
- Select the node you want to transfer to a sub-map.
- Go to the File menu and select Make a linked submap.
- To open the sub-map, click the link in the node on the main map. This opens the linked sub-map for editing.
Limitations
This is currently a beta feature and has some known limitations.
Sub-maps do not inherit sharing privileges from the original map. If the main map is shared, you must manually share the sub-map as well.
We plan to expand this feature to more use cases in the future.
