Overview
The Mindmup Home dashboard is where you can create, find, and organize your maps. From the dashboard, you can view your maps, access maps shared with you, manage teams, find starred maps, and open the trash.
The dashboard also gives you different ways to filter and organize your maps, making it easier to find what you need as your collection grows.
Create a new map
To create a new map, click the drop-down arrow next to + New map.
You can choose Standard Mindmup, Org Chart, or Argument Visualization. Mindmup creates a new map using the selected map type.
Find your maps
The dashboard organizes your maps into different areas:
All maps shows the maps available to you, including your own maps and maps shared with you.
My maps shows maps that you own.
Shared with me shows maps that other people have shared with you.
Use these tabs to narrow down the maps you want to work with.
Filter and sort maps
When you have many maps, use the filter and sort options to find them more easily.
You can filter or sort maps by:
- Date trashed or Alphabetical, where available.
- Team, including all teams or a specific team.
- Tags, including all tags, untagged maps, or a specific tag.
You can also switch between Grid view and List view depending on how you prefer to browse your maps. In List view, you can see information such as the map name, last modified date, creation date, and owner.
Use teams to organize maps
Teams help you organize maps around a group or shared project.
From the Teams section, you can create a new team and give it a name. Within a team, you can view All maps or My maps, filter by tags, and sort maps by last modified, last viewed, alphabetical, or date created.
Team actions also let you manage members, copy the team link, rename the team, change its color, or delete it.
Find starred maps
Star a map when you want to make it easier to find later.
The Starred section shows your starred maps. From the actions menu next to a starred map, you can open it, open it in a new tab, copy its link, share it, view its map location, or remove it from Starred.
Star your most frequently used maps so you can return to them quickly without searching through your entire collection.
Manage maps from the actions menu
Use the three-dot menu next to a map to access actions for that map.
Depending on the map and your access, available actions can include opening the map, sharing it, renaming it, duplicating it, moving it, editing its tags, viewing version history, starring or unstarring it, and moving it to the trash.
These actions let you manage your maps without opening them first.
Move maps to the trash
When you no longer need a map, you can move it to the Trash.
The Trash area keeps deleted maps separate from your active maps, so they do not appear alongside the maps you are currently working with.
Choose the view that works for you
Use Grid view when you prefer to browse maps visually. Switch to List view when you want to see map details such as the name, owner, creation date, and last modified date.
For larger collections, combine List view with filters for teams or tags to narrow down the maps you need.
Keep your dashboard organized
A few simple habits can make the dashboard easier to manage as your collection grows:
- Use meaningful map names so you can identify maps quickly.
- Add tags when you need another way to group related maps.
- Star maps you return to frequently.
- Use teams to keep maps for shared work together.
- Use filters and List view when you have a large number of maps.
- Move maps you no longer need to the Trash to keep your active map list manageable.
Find your way around the dashboard
The Home dashboard gives you a central place to create new maps and manage the maps you already have. Use tabs, filters, teams, tags, and Starred to keep your maps organized and easy to find.
