Changes to Mindmup for Google Drive

May 11News

Starting May 18, 2026, Mindmup for Google Drive will transition to a fully paid product.

Until now, the Google Drive version of Mindmup has remained largely free, with only a few limitations such as map size restrictions. However, as Mindmup continues to evolve and grow, the cost of maintaining and supporting the platform has increased significantly, especially around infrastructure, real-time collaboration, storage integrations, and ongoing development.

To continue improving the product and sustainably support future development, access to Mindmup for Google Drive will now require an active Personal subscription or higher.

What this means:

  • Free users will no longer be able to create or edit maps using the Google Drive app after May 18, 2026
  • Existing maps stored in Google Drive will remain accessible, but editing will require a paid subscription
  • Personal, Team, and Organization subscribers will continue to have full access

If you are currently using the free version and do not intend to upgrade, please make sure to export and save any important maps before May 18, 2026.

We know this is a meaningful change, especially for long-time users of the Drive app, and we truly appreciate the support over the years. Our goal is to ensure Mindmup remains actively developed, reliable, and sustainable long term.
