Collaborator List Not Available
If you see an error saying the collaborator list isn’t available, it usually means your browser or network is blocking the connection Mindmup needs to keep collaborators in sync.
The collaborator list relies on WebSockets, which create a two-way connection between Mindmup and your browser. Some browser extensions, firewalls, proxies, or network policies can block this and prevent the feature from working.
Check Browser Extensions
Privacy or Tracking Blockers
Are you using extensions like Disconnect, Ghostery, Privacy Badger, or similar tools?
These extensions are designed to block outgoing requests from websites and may block connections to Mindmup services. If you’re using one, you’ll need to whitelist Mindmup-related domains. Check the extension’s documentation for instructions on how to do this.
Ad Blockers
Some ad blockers incorrectly flag WebSocket requests as ads.
To test this, open Mindmup in a private or incognito window and see if the collaborator list works there. If it does, you’ll need to whitelist Mindmup services in your ad blocker so your browser can receive collaborator updates.
Check Proxy or Network Settings
If your browser connects to the internet through a proxy, the proxy may be blocking WebSockets. Try whitelisting Mindmup services in your proxy configuration or disabling the proxy for SOCKS hosts.
