Check if accounts.google.com cookies are blocked
Recent versions of Chrome (all platforms) and Safari on macOS block or remove cookies from third-party sites you haven’t visited directly. To sign in to Mindmup using Google, your browser must allow cookies from accounts.google.com.
Because this is a service domain you likely haven’t visited directly, those cookies may be blocked. Try adding accounts.google.com to your browser’s allow list, or temporarily enable third-party cookies.
For detailed technical background, see Google’s Sign In troubleshooting documentation.
Are you using a privacy or blocking extension?
Extensions such as Disconnect, Ghostery, Privacy Badger, or similar tools are designed to block outgoing requests from websites. This can prevent Mindmup from accessing Google Authentication and Google Drive.
To use Google services with Mindmup, you’ll need to whitelist the relevant requests or domains. Check the Chrome and Firefox documentation for your privacy extension to see how to allow them.
Are you using an ad blocker?
Some ad blockers may incorrectly treat requests to Google services as ads. To test whether this is the issue:
- Open Mindmup in a private or incognito window.
- Try signing in again.
If it works there, your ad blocker is likely the cause. You may need to whitelist Google Drive or related Google services so Mindmup can access them properly.
