Overview
Mindmup lets you manage your email notifications and preferences from your account settings. You can control notifications for comment activity, map sharing, announcements and updates, and transactional emails.
Each category covers a different type of email, so you can choose the settings that fit how you use Mindmup.
Manage your notification preferences
- From the Home dashboard, click your profile avatar.
- Select Account.
- Open Notifications.
- Review each notification category and choose your preferred option.
Comment activity
Stay in the loop when someone comments on your files, replies to your thoughts, or mentions you in a conversation.
You can choose:
- All comments
- Just mentions & replies
- None
Choose All comments when you want to follow all comment activity. Choose Just mentions & replies when you only want emails about conversations that directly involve you.
Map sharing
Get updates when a map is shared with you or added to your team workspace.
You can choose:
- Default
- None
Use Default to keep the standard notification setting. Choose None when you do not want email notifications for map sharing.
Announcements & updates
Get occasional updates about new features, product improvements, and Mindmup promotions.
You can choose:
- Default
- None
Keep Default when you want to receive these updates. Choose None when you do not want them by email.
Transactional emails
These are important account-related messages, such as receipts, billing updates, and security alerts.
You can choose:
- Essential only
- None
Choose Essential only when you want to receive only the most important transactional messages.
Example use cases
Notification settings can be useful in different situations:
- You work on maps with others: Adjust Comment activity so you receive the level of comment updates you need.
- You only want conversations involving you: Choose Just mentions & replies instead of receiving every comment.
- You manage maps across a team: Keep Map sharing notifications enabled so you know when maps are shared with you or added to your team workspace.
- You prefer fewer product emails: Turn off Announcements & updates when you do not want occasional product news or promotions.
- You still want important account emails: Keep Transactional emails set to Essential only.
Common questions
Can I set different preferences for each type of notification?
Yes. Each notification category has its own settings, so you can choose different preferences for comment activity, map sharing, announcements and updates, and transactional emails.
Are notification settings separate from my profile settings?
Yes. Notifications is a separate section under Account, alongside Profile and Plan & billing.
Can I receive only mentions and replies?
Yes. Under Comment activity, select Just mentions & replies instead of All comments.
