Overview
If your exported Mindmup image has an unexpected background, check the image export options before exporting again.
Mindmup lets you export maps as PNG, JPG, or SVG files. You can choose Same as map, Transparent, or White for the background. You can also adjust the export scale.
To export your map as an image, open the map, click the Mindmup icon at the top-left corner, and choose File › Export › Image.
The exported image has the wrong background
Open File › Export › Image and check Background.
Choose Same as map to use the map's background.
Choose White for a plain white background.
Choose Transparent to export the map without a background.
The exported image is not the size you need
Check Scale before exporting.
Mindmup provides 0.5x, 1x, 2x, and 5x options. Try a different scale if the exported image is too small or too large for your needs.
The problem persists
Check the Background and Scale options, then export the image again.
If the result still does not match your expectations, contact Mindmup support at contact@mindmup.com. Describe the background option you selected, what the exported image looks like, and what you expected to see.
Tips
- Use Same as map when you want to preserve the map's background.
- Use Transparent when you need the map without a background.
- Use White for a plain background.
- Check Scale if the exported image is not the size you need.
- Change one export option at a time when troubleshooting.

If your exported image does not have the background you expected, check Background under the image export options. Choose the option that matches your needs, then export the image again.
