Overview
If a map seems to be missing, it may be in a different section of your Home dashboard, filtered by team or tags, or in the Trash.
Mindmup provides several ways to locate maps, including search, map tabs, filters, Recents, and Starred maps.
Find your map
From the Home dashboard, use Search for anything and enter part of the file name.
Search requires at least two characters.
Check the Home tabs
The Home dashboard includes:
- My maps for maps associated with your account
- Shared with me for maps shared with you
- All maps for a broader view of your maps
Check each tab if you're unsure where the map belongs.
Check your team filter
In the map lists, use the team filter to view maps from All teams or a specific team.
This is especially useful if the map belongs to a team space.
Check your tags
Use the tags filter to search by All tags, Untagged, or a specific tag.
Check Recents
Recents provides quick access to recently opened maps. You can also filter these maps by team or tags.
Check Starred maps
If you previously starred the map, check Starred. Starred maps are listed separately for quick access.
Check the Trash
If you may have moved the map to the trash, open Trash. You can filter trashed maps by date or name, as well as by team and tags.
Example use cases
Different situations call for different ways to search:
- You remember the map name: Use Search for anything.
- You know which team the map belongs to: Use the team filter or open that team.
- You recently worked on the map: Check Recents.
- You organized the map with a tag: Use the tags filter.
- You think you deleted it: Check Trash.
- You previously starred it: Check Starred.
Tips
- Search using at least two characters from the map name.
- Check My maps, Shared with me, and All maps when you're not sure where the map is stored.
- If a map should be in a team, check the team filter before assuming it is missing.
- Check Trash if the map was moved or deleted recently.
Common questions
Who owns a map I see in Shared with me ?
The Shared with me list includes an Owner column, so you can identify who owns each map.
Can I see when a map was created or last modified?
Yes. Map lists can show Created and Last modified dates. You can also sort maps by date created or last modified.
Can I switch between grid and list views when looking for a map?
Yes. The Home map lists support both Grid view and List view, so you can choose the layout that makes it easier to browse your maps.
What if I still can't find the map?
If you still can't locate your map after checking the available search options and map views, contact Mindmup support at contact@mindmup.com. Include any relevant details about the map and what you have already tried so the support team can investigate the issue.
