Overview
The Manage members option lets you control which account members can access a specific team and what they can do there. You can add members to a team, assign their team permission, or find an existing member.
Manage members is available to Team and Organization plan account owners. Team membership is separate from account membership, so someone must first be added as an account member before you can add them to a team.
Choose a member’s team permission
Teams are groups of members who collaborate on maps. When you add a member to a team, you assign a team-level permission based on what they need to do.
- Can view: Can view all maps within the team but cannot edit them.
- Can edit: Can view and edit all maps within the team.
- Admin: Can manage the team’s members, roles, and maps, but not the overall account.
Manage members within a team

Only account members are shown in Manage members. To add someone who is not listed, invite them first from the Members section of your account.
Use Search teams to quickly find a specific team before managing its members.
Find a team member
Use the member search in Manage members to find an account member when working with a larger team.
This can help you quickly locate a specific person without reviewing the entire member list.
Example use cases
Managing team members is useful when:
- A new account member needs access to a specific team.
- Someone already in your organization needs to be added to another team.
- You need to find a particular member within a team.
- You manage several teams and need to control membership separately.
Common questions
Does adding someone as an account member automatically add them to every team?
No. Account membership and team membership are separate. You manage access to individual teams from Teams › Manage members.
Why can't I find someone in Manage members?
Only account members appear in Manage members. If the person is not listed, invite them first from the Members section of your account.
What is the difference between team permissions and account membership?
Account membership gives someone access to the account or organization. Team permissions control what they can do within a specific team.
Can a team member have different permissions in different teams?
Yes. Team permissions are assigned at the team level, so a member's access can differ from one team to another.
