Overview
The Privacy section gives your Mindmup account controls over how members can publish and share maps. You can allow or block public publishing, control sharing outside your organization, and allow members to share maps with everyone in the organization.
These settings help you control how maps are shared across your organization and with people outside it.
Manage your privacy settings
From the Home dashboard:
- Click your profile avatar.
- Select Account.
- Open Privacy.
You can manage three privacy settings.
Publishing maps
Use Publishing maps to allow or block members from publishing maps publicly.
Turn the setting on to allow public publishing or off to block it.
This setting is useful when you want to control whether members can make maps publicly available.
Sharing outside of your organization
Use Sharing outside of your organization to control whether members can share maps with people who are not part of your organization.
Turn the setting on or off depending on whether external sharing should be allowed.
This gives your organization control over whether maps can be shared with external users.
Sharing with “All members of your organization”
Use Sharing with “All members of your organization” to control whether members can share maps with everyone in the organization.
Turn the setting on to allow this type of organization-wide sharing or off to block it.
Common questions
Can I control public publishing separately from external sharing?
Yes. Publishing maps and Sharing outside of your organization are separate settings, so each can be controlled independently.
What is the difference between external sharing and organization-wide sharing?
Sharing outside of your organization controls sharing with people who are not part of your organization. Sharing with “All members of your organization” controls sharing with people inside your organization.
What happens when a privacy setting is turned off?
Turning off a setting blocks the sharing or publishing action controlled by that setting.
Are these settings separate from team member permissions?
Yes. Privacy settings control publishing and sharing at the account or organization level. Team member permissions determine access within a specific team.
